The topic of #procrastination turned out to be extremely important. Many of you admit without embarrassment that you have a problem with postponing important matters for "tomorrow".
The advent of tomorrow, however, causes an increase in tension, frustration, and ever stronger remorse due to the failure to perform the duties.
You already know why this is happening. You know the #habit is at #work, #paradigms take over. You don't control the situation - it takes control of you.
No matter how important things you put off until later. The important thing is that you allow the #habit to operate that is not serving you and which is unproductive. Habit perpetuates itself, chokes down #success. It doesn't give you the desired results, does it?
The theory is enough. You're always looking for practical tips, right? So take a look at what you can do to overcome procrastination and enjoy greater job satisfaction (but not only).
1. Decision! You read that right ... making a #decision is the first effective step in overcoming procrastination. This is its opposite. Make decisions with confidence. When you do this, you are one step closer to your goal.
2. Make a list - write down what the postponement issue looks like in your case. What are you putting off? When? What matters do you leave for later? What happens to you then? What do you feel the moment you tell yourself "I'll do it tomorrow!" And what do you feel, what emotional state you are in when "tomorrow" comes. You have to realize that. Here and now.
Take the other piece of paper and now think about what it would be like if you didn't procrastinate. How would you have managed to overcome it?
Can you see that this is the complete opposite of your present state?
3. The project you are working on is big? You don't take it, delay it ... because you don't know where to start? It happens to many people. My advice? Divide the task into smaller points. Schedule. Sometimes it's easier to get started when we have a plan, we know how to act ... and the individual tasks aren't terribly big.
4. Calm down. It is difficult to act in the face of stress, crowds of thoughts ... When the mind is calm and calm, it is easier to start working on even the most difficult task.
5. You always want to have everything buttoned up to the last button? Arranged like a ruler? You want to be a perfectionist at every turn. Come on! Immediately! Be good. Do the best you can, but don't always try to be perfect in everything. Perfectionism is an illusion.
6. Find someone who will simply support you in your tasks. A partner ... of responsibility. Have you ever heard of someone like this? This is a person who will help you to keep track of your tasks. Who will always ask if you have performed your duties and will help you get back on the right path when you stray from it.
7. Have you noticed any progress? Reward yourself for it! Appreciate. Celebrate! You will see with what enthusiasm you will move to the next tasks.
Unfortunately, there is no magic wand that you can use and disenchant your greatness from procrastination once and for all. However, you can use these and other tools that will certainly allow you to develop a new habit.
Think how it would be if you woke up "tomorrow" knowing that you had completed all the most difficult tasks "today" ... Do you need support? Book a call.
